Research interests

Organometallic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis

Keywords : Ligand design, well-defined complexes, gold, mechanistic studies, sigma-bond activation (C-O, C-N, C-H bond activation), applications in organic synthesis (cross coupling) and biodegradable polymers.

Research overview :

Au(I)/Au(III) catalysis : (collab. with D. Bourissou, Toulouse and K. Miqueu, Pau)
We are develloping new catalytic transformations with gold, such as direct arylation processes, hydrofunctionalization of olefins, and C-X (X= O, N, C, S…) cross coupling reactions. We are also getting interested in the preparation and isolation of high valent gold and copper species (+III oxidation state) for C–H activation and olefin insertion processes.

C-O and C-N bond activation :
We are exploring new catalytic strategies for the atom-economic coupling of C-O and C-N based electrophiles building with a large scope of nucleophiles (including very mild nucleophilic partners C-H bond activation) as well as possible further functionalization reactions. We are particularly investigating new cooperative strategy that rely on the combination of purposely designed first row transition metal based catalysts with electrophilic partners.
